Trend Alert: True Lifestyle Photography

Today I am sharing something extra special with you. I am in love. I discover the latest trend in photography - it is a new photography style for capturing lifestyle photos. Of course I just had to try it out on my family and I am in love with the results.

We all know by now that lifestyle photography is a type of photography that aims to capture peoples' lives and life events for example engagements or new born shoots ... but up to now these types of shoots were mostly done in studios in a posed set-up or if done outdoors - it is still posed photos. Don't get me wrong - I am still a fan of these types of sessions too.
But what would happen if you take the photographer into your world instead of bring yourself to the photographer's world?

The results: incredible, unbelievably spontaneous photos or as I like to call it true lifestyle photography. Photography is about capturing the memory. Even though posed photos definitely have their time and place; is capturing your ordinary everyday life not what you actually want to remember and capture for the rest of your life?

So why get a photographer for this? Because we as parents (and I, as a photographer, are also guilty of this - shocking, I know) do not take enough photos of our kids and our lives. We are so busy being responsible parents and raising our kids that we forget to enjoy the everyday moments and see the joy in the messiness.

Even though the concept is simple, tha actual photography is not. You need a well trained eye and lots of technique to simplify the pictures and manipulate the light so that it works to your advantage. These types of photos can easily get too busy and it then loses its beauty and simplicity. And just from a practical point of view ... you're part of the family and need to be in the shot not behind it ;)

Enjoy your family,
Your Photographer
